Matias de Dovitiis
President and Co-founder
Bio: Matias, a University of Toronto political science graduate finishing his post-graduate studies from the University of Alberta . Matias was the first president of OLAS at St. George and has worked with various social and political organizations. Most recently, he has furthered his work the Latino community in Toronto through his efforts in Mosaico 21.

Alejandra Gomez
Treasurer and Co-founder
Bio: Alejandra, a Colombian-born Ryerson University Finance graduate, she has been involved with various Latin American social and artistic groups since 2000. Most notably, she was part of the executive of the Organization of Latin American Students (OLAS) at Ryerson. In 2003 she began to develop the concept for an online publication about Hispanic arts, now known as Mosaico 21.

Juan Pablo de Dovitiis

Bio: Uruguayan-born Juan Pablo is a Humber College journalism program graduate. Mosaico 21 is the third online publication that he has edited and designed. (Out There Magazine and Sweat were the previous ones). His articles have appeared in OHS Canada, El Correo Canadiense (Spanish), Jobber News, The Northern Miner, Canadian Transportation and Logistics, and Canadian Plastics, among others. He now works at Pcworld.ca.

Bio: Miriam, an Ontario College of Arts and Design graduate, is a Salvadorian-born designer who resides in Toronto and works as a graphic designer for iMac Design in Toronto , Ontario . Camila Bonifaz
Bio: Camila was born and raised in Ecuador. A graduate of Universidad San Francisco de Quito, where she studied International Relations and Art History, Camila went on to earn a Masters degree in Latin American Studies from Georgetown University and a Masters in Political Science from the University of Toronto. Before moving to Canada in 2004, Camila worked for four years at an environmental thinktank in Washington DC, where she enjoyed the city's vibrant Latin art, music, and restaurant community.

Youna Zhang

Bio: Youna is an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto , specializing in International Relations and a minor in Spanish. Born in China , raised in Montreal , she's developed a passion for languages. She is fluent in Mandarin, French, English, and is on her way of becoming fluent in Spanish. She currently has numerous leadership positions in clubs at the university.

Bio: Patricia is a Colombian journalist with more than 10 years of experience in print media, five of which were spent with Bogota 's El Tiempo, one of the largest newspapers in Latin America . A Graduate of the Javeriana University ( Colombia ), Patricia has extended international experience working in media, including professional work and training in Colombia , Ecuador , Israel and Canada .

Julio Cifuentes

Bio: Guatemalan-born Julio Cifuentes graduated from Ryerson University , where he was also a member of OLAS. A Toronto resident, Julio works for Grey-Noble Architects in Newmarket , Ontario , as well as being a freelance designer whose work has been exhibited at the Queen's Quay Terminal. Julio is also the co-designer of Mosaico's logo.

Bio: Fernando is a Buenaventura , Colombia , -born community radio producer with more than a decade of experience working in media. His training includes an administration degree from Universidad Industrial de Santander, Colombia , and an extensive variety of courses in community radio communications both in Colombia and with the Radio Nederlands Training Centre in Hilversum , Holland .

Bio: A native of Mexico City, Mexico, Veronica studied and worked as a journalist before arriving to Canada, where she is now in charge of covering events for Mosaico. Her experience includes work for both online and print publications, and she specializes in covering the film industry.

Bio: Anibal is a Mexican photographer who now makes Toronto his home. As well as having worked as a professional photographer in both Mexico and Canada , he is also a graphic designer who specializes in print media and advertising. and whose life philosophy can be summarized in these words: "passing through life, writing stories with light...".

Freddy Velez
Staff reporter
Bio: Freddy is a Colombian journalist who has worked for various publications in his native Cali in Colombia and is currently employed in Toronto 's El Correo Canadiense. According to Freddy, the governments of Colombia and Canada are going through a bitter dispute over his citizenship, as they both deny he is not a citizen of their country. When not writing, Freddy also organizes Latino business networking breakfasts, as well as cultural events.

Cesar Rodriguez

Bio: Cesar is Mosaico 21's official resident free-spirit, as well as one of the most talented and versatile artists most of us have come across. Born in Cali , and now living in Toronto , Cesar is a painter and illustrator, who also designs parade floats and is involved with TV. His work for Mosaico includes being the co-designer of the magazine's logo and a virtual gallery of his art.

Raul Vargas

Bio: Born in Chile and raised in TO ( Toronto ), Raul is a techno/house DJ and music producer, as well as a Georgian College art graduate. Besides music, Raul also runs a number of independent endeavours, including his own clothing line (Do What You Gotta) and A&R projects for various for record labels.

Nelson Maragoto

Bio: Nelson Miguel Maragoto Rodriguez is a musician and was an English professor in his native province of Matanzas , Cuba . Nelson was (and still is) "a madman and many other things, which are not worth telling, but, above all, a father, husband, friend and son". In the Canadian stage of his life, Nelson divides his time "looking at the sun with his eyes wide open" (but only in winter) and sharing his extensive musical knowledge with Mosaico's readers.

Bio: "Nacho", who hails from Arequipa, Peru, is a freelance graphic design artist with a profound love affair with and knowledge of Hispanic filmmaking. His first story with Mosaico, " Thoughts From a "Guerrilla " Filmmaker" became the first front page story in the publication's history.

Gabriela Berloni
Bio: "Gabi", never one to shy away from intricate scenarios, earned her Honours Bachelor of Science degree, with a major in human biology and a triple minor in Spanish, Italian and biology, from the University of Toronto, and can be best described as "the Canadian-born daughter of Argentinean parents of Italian descent". Besides working with Mosaico, she also has her own strategic consulting firm and volunteers with CanadaCares, a non-profit organization.
